We expect professional development opportunities, an attractive pension package and generous annual leave to be ‘a given’, in any employment contract.

Yet, despite adapting to a post-pandemic life in challenging new terrain, how much importance do we, and our employers place on the Ts & Cs of our mental health?

Are our employers doing enough to support us and our emotional wellbeing? Not just in the workplace, but holistically as an individual?

Are we, ourselves, taking regular steps to check on, and maintain our own mental health? And if not, why not?

We might diligently check our finances, diet, water intake and exercise regime. Then refine, tweak and re-set as necessary. So why would our mental health not benefit from the same approach?

Think of it like this.

Our cars benefit from regular maintenance and upkeep, even if they seem to be running perfectly fine.

So does our emotional wellbeing. Learning to notice our feelings and mood, can help us identify potential mental health concerns before they escalate.

Acting before things reach crisis point, means a plan can be implemented if needed, to ultimately have a positive impact on our life.
